The CD takes a lot longer to start at first but once it does the Sega CD has no issues at all playing and skipping through all the tracks. This seems to work well with Chilly Willy's Wolfenstein 3D 32X port too for those of you like me who want to take advantage of the mode 1 music support he added in it. Plus, it's really easy to use.

Can't remember the details, but it was a fun waste of time. Plus always nice when you got home, plugged it in and some new you get some good stuff for nothing! I just know that it's an extra step in addition to the IDE mod. I also have a softmodded PS2 and also a Wii. What are some good hidden gem racing games that I should try?

Is Vanishing Point any good? I heard mixed things about it. What happened to all of the ReviveDC releases on theizozone? Practically all traces of it are deleted. That blows that you'd have to pay that much. Reminder that this 6th Genner shit is not, and will never be retro. I have most of them back-upped. I love this function.

Take into consideration that there's some samefagging involved. You win at 4chan. Now go outside. Stop derailing a thread.

So if the isozone's servers got fucked, where would I go to get ReviveDC releases if I wanted them tonight? I just picked up a new spindle of CDRs and wanted to check some new games out. Does anyone have a link, or a torrent or something? Oh man I wish I had a dreamcast! Are there any Dreamcast emulators worth using? Don't fuck up your GD drive just to try some new games.

Just buy one. They aren't that expensive. There's no reason to not use the GD-ROM till it dies, he should do just that, he should enjoy dreamcast gaming to it's fullest while he still can. More importantly, can anyone answer the guy's question? Where do you find ReviveDC releases if you speak English?

On another note, does anyone know when they'll be available on isozone again? I don't know which images you have, so if you have one of the following that would be awesome: 18 Wheeler Spiderman Starlancer 4x4 Evo I think Starlancer might have been a 99 minute rip though, if so I won't be able to burn it.

I would like a copy of them, though. RDC died over a year ago, but fuck me if they weren't the best releases so far. All that shit does is strokes the egos of release groups and buttfucks people who just want to play games. It's fucking retarded. After those i will upload spider-man. Newcomer here I really want to play one game that's on the Dreamcast but that's it. Just the one game. I don't want to emulate it because I'd like to find and buy a copy of said game first.

However PAL Dreamcast's cost a hefty amount. Do any consoles have backwards compatibility with the Dreamcast? What are my options? Emulations or spending moneys. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Originally an arcade release, later ported to Dreamcast and Playstation I've heard the PlayStation port suffers hardware issues involving sprites and vital mechanics.

The PS version is missing some frames of animation but it's not really noticable -- I own both. I would say go and buy the PS version, it's entirely playable. Emotions Self-Responsibility Theory ; All problems, troubles are caused by prejudice.

Only proper education solve them. Please utilize this rationalistic philosophy. Virtua Fighter 3 is under-rated and I wish that the Dreamcast port could have received the care as Soul Calibur's did. Is there anyway I can get my dreamcast online with a broadband connection without the broadband adapter?

Mine has just started doing this. The serial port is a bit slower but not by a whole lot. It doesn't really do that audio unsych. Dreamcast isn't retro. If it's to be considered retro, then the rest of the sixth generation should be as well. Also, is Dreamshell stable enough to install directly to the system yet? Please guys at least this time no replies ok?

Yes, but but you need to install a black chip in the dreamcast. Katana sortware usually works, with a couple exceptions. Here's a compatibility list.

Is there anything I need to take into consideration? Will I still be able to boot discs fine? The new BIOS chip will piggyback on top of the old one with a switch that goes between the two. The only thing you'll be installing on the new chip is the Dreamshell bootloader, so you wont have to boot from CD every time. If you just use a CD every time, then you still need a working GD drive, and using a burned disc to load Dreamshell will wear it out little by little, but you'd literally just be loading from CD for like 5 seconds every power-on, before the SD card takes over and the CD spins down, so it would help very much.

I'll look into this. Where can I get an SD adaptor? It's much nicer than the crappy chinese one I had before, for about the same price. Both can be downloaded from SWAT's website. IE Dreamcast, 2 controllers, vmu or mega memory card? You don't need to mod to burn discs which need to be CD-Rs but I think there may be some really late models that don't support this. Those are pretty rare, though. Almost all units support directly booting selfbooting Dreamcast burned games. Dreamcast, 1 controller and 1 or 2 VMUs is fine, although of course it depends on what you want to play.

This console has like only all good games, quite excited. Now, how much are arcade sticks There are some other ones out there but I don't know how good they are in comparison. It wasn't around long enough to hit the point where development techniques had matured to the point that dumping shovelware on the system became super cheap, so while you still see stuff like Who Wants to Beat Up a Millionaire the overwhelming majority of the library is high quality.

How much should it cost to get a set with one controller, a VGA video thingy, and whatever sd card adapter i need to play pirated games? VGA adapters are a little more rare though.

More hard to find than expensive. Easy enough to find if you're buying online. An SD card isn't needed, but playing burned CD-Rs is really bad for the laser, and is a bit limiting. This isn't a very big deal on most consoles, but on the Dreamcast, replacement parts are damn near impossible to find, since the only systems to ever use GDs are the Dreamcast and the SEGA arcade system it was based off of.

An old friend of mine accidentally left his Soul Reaver DC copy with me, too. Unfortunately I lack CRTVs and I didn't see many other games to stick my head out for, so I don't want to impulse buy an old console and a couple standout games willy-nilly.

Anything else I should keep an eye out for when it comes to the Dreamcast? Skies of Arcadia for example best DC game ever is 2 discs long and each one holds about 1gb. If you want to play that game, you'll have to either buy it, or use Dreamshell, because it's too big for CD. Finally, CD loading only works for self-booting games. Not all work that way.

CD's don't put any extra strain on the drive. If you make sure to burn at 4x, then it's about as good as an actual pressed CD, but not quite.

Besides, optical drives have moving parts. Using any kind of disc wears it out eventually, that's why Dreamshell exists. It's something any gamer should experience at least once. It's harder for any laser to read the burned marks as opposed to pressed pits on a retail game on a recordable disc, but having further spaced marks compared to the compressed ones on a GD-ROM actually helps out somewhat.

What games do you have?
